Weirdly, I apparently auditioned for the Aspen Comedy Festival tonight and didn't even know it.
I still have my set list written in pen on my wrist. It says:

Hi Jen, congratulations on your showcase. I saw your act at NYCC open mic and thought you were good. How long have you been at this and have you gotten any paying gigs yet? Were there actually HBO people at your showcase? Any advice to a noob like myself? My name is Doug by the way and i've just started doing open mics and am doing a showcase this Thursday at NYCC.
Of course HBO was there ... I'm not about to bring 10 people to a show at this point unless there's industry or if I really need a tape. If industry is supposed to be there, you can even ask the club to point the person out to you so you can play to that area of the room.
If you're looking to get paid in your first few years as a comic, you could try running an open mic or doing a show in a bar. You shouldn't plan on making money from comedy for a long, long time.
congrats!!!
