Holy shit. I remember Barbara Bush being a benign white-haired lady who cared about reading, not a decrepit incarnation of pure racist, elitist, cruelly chuckling evil. Link from Sam Means. Barbara Bush on the Katrina survivors who were transported to Houston:

Al Franken had some things to say on that very subject in his 2003 book Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. I think you can view the relevant passages here.
While Franken may not be the most evenhanded and unbiased of sources, I can't say I'm too surprised by this take on Barbara Bush.
