fast cash!
In East Harlem, Citibank ATMs have a $10 option for "fast cash."
On the Upper West Side, Citibank ATMs have a $1000 option.
I've been living in New York for years now, but the idea of $1000 fast cash kind of blows my mind.
A friend of mine bought an apartment a few years ago for $250,000 cash, and seriously contemplated paying in actual cash, carried in a briefcase, handcuffed to his wrist.

While shopping for holiday gifts for my girlfriend on the Internet last month, I saw advertised a pair of sterling silver handcuffs that, if ordered before December 2nd, could be engraved with the recipient's initials and delivered by Christmas. Well. Naturually, I presumed that the restraints were designer fetish wear that would have to wait until Valentine's Day, or perhaps yet another freebie Sharper Image's Dick Thalheimer would throw in if I bought that Ionic Breeze thingy he shills on late night t.v. But thanks to your post, now I realize that engraved sterling silver handcuffs are just more pretentious bling for Upper East Side Yuppies to sport on their way to a closing. Who knew?
Jesus!
