anyone have any Dutch cartoons I can publish on my blog?

I have purchased an enormous covered litterbox, with a staircase, for Cow. (The purpose of the staircase, which is textured, is to catch extra litter as the cat walks out of the litterbox, so the litter doesn't end up on your floor).


Now, whenever Cow goes off to do her business, Mr. Intrepid Young Journalist and I refer to it as "going to the mosque."

It has been observed that she does it about five times per day.

"renegade" my ass

My Renegade Craft Fair post has generated enough comment (much of it in person, not on the blog) that I am thinking maybe I'll hold my own craft fair, involving actual crafts.

I think part of the problem with the RCF was that it cost at least $125 to rent a space, which would be prohibitive to someone who makes potholders in their spare time. Maybe I could find some dumpy little church meeting area and offer table space for $15 and we could all eat PB&J sandwiches together.

Incidentally, I make my own refrigerator magnets, often out of beans and interesting beer bottle caps.

My cat is feeling very nuzzly right now and insists on standing in front of my computer and rubbing the side of her face into my nose. So, I reached OVER the cat to check my email, and opened the Spanish Word of the Day, and it was "gato."

My cat, Cow, figured out how to get on the refrigerator, which is often unnerving; one does not expect to encounter a cat at eye-level.

Following the scaling of the fridge, Cow figured out how to get on top of the kitchen cabinets. It looks like this:

Today I came out of writing class and saw a pigeon trying to eat an entire sandwich that someone had dropped on the ground. It was cute, and I instinctively looked at the pigeon and said -- in my cute-babies-and-pets-voice -- something like "Oh! What's little kitty doing?"

And then, of course, I realized that I had called a pigeon "kitty," and I scurried away before the universe laughed too hard.

I have about two hundred magazines and newspapers in my bedroom, due to my writing endeavors. My cat, Cow, rather inordinately enjoys sitting on periodicals (or any type of paper, really). It's like she's nesting. Just now she was resting happily on top of a list of common SAT vocabulary words on my desk.

In any case, this is a picture of my cat being absurdly cute while I'm trying to work.
